East-West University

located along michigan avenue just south of the loop and directly across the street from grant park and museum campus, east-west university is a "majority minority" private university offering bachelor's degrees in such fields as business administration, computer and information science, electronics technology, and the liberal arts.  the campus presently consists of an east building located at 816 south michigan avenue and a west building located at 819 south wabash avenue, with the two buildings connected by a pedestrian bridge on the third floor.  the university also owns some vacant land nearby to accommodate anticipated future growth.

the school technically falls within the boundaries of the south loop neighborhood, where developers feverishly added thousands and thousands of residential units to the city's housing stock during the recent boom years.  the south loop is now chock full of new construction high-rises, condominium conversions, and adaptive reuse projects.  there's also plenty of retail nearby, some concentrated in malls.  hip and eclectic food and entertainment options litter the south loop and, as an added bonus, the el runs right through the neighborhood, making commuting easy.
