pullman was once the nation’s “most famous planned community,” according to the encyclopedia of chicago, and today, pullman residents still cling to the area’s storied past.

pullman apartments include the standard assortment of brownstones and complexes, big and small.  population-wise, pullman is one of the city’s smaller areas (just under 9,000 in 2000).  it has its own elementary school and is home to corliss high school.  there are a few diners, and, of course, several historical landmarks, like market square, hotel florence, and pullman park.

for those looking to flex their muscles on the links, the harborside international golf course will do the trick.  buses are useful for the immediate surrounding areas.  the metra electric district line provides access to downtown.
