so you're looking for an apartment, and you know exactly what you want.  but you're too busy to check when new listings that match your search appear on the map.  want to get notified when they do?  we have just the thing.

here's a step-by-step guide for getting personalized search notifications emailed to you.  

here we are on the search page.  once you select your number of bedrooms, price range, bathrooms and other filters, click "save this search." (that comically large arrow is pointing to it above.)

next you'll be prompted to log in or create an account if you haven't already.  creating an account is only necessary for saving searches and getting notifications.  for regular searching, you never need to create an account.  

now complete the fields for your account--username, email address and password.  we promise you'll only receive email updates for these saved searches.  unless, of course, you subscribe to the newsletter, then you'll get that too.

after creating your account, make a name for this search. "one bedrooms in the south loop."  "studios in wicker park." whatever you want.

so, up to this point, you have saved your search and named your search.  now, to edit the email notification settings, click "notification options."  

finally, set how frequently you would like to receive the notifications.  you can get them every hour, twice a day, daily, or weekly.  you can save an unlimited amount of searches and get notified for every search you create.  then click "subscribe" and you're done!  as new listings that match your search criteria are added to our database, you'll receive them via email.
