Brother Rice High School

Brother Rice High School is an all-male, Catholic, college preparatory school that was founded by the Christian Brothers of Ireland in 1956 at 10001 South Pulaski Road.  Its notable alumni include Kevin Cronin (lead singer and rhythm guitarist of REO Speedwagon), Michael Flatley (dancer, choreographer, and creator of “Riverdance”), John C. Reilly (who has appeared in more than fifty Hollywood films and been nominated for both Academy Awards and Grammy Awards), and Tom Tunney (Chicago alderman and owner of the Ann Sather restaurant chain).

Polaris High School, located at 10701 Kilpatrick Avenue in Mount Greenwood Chicago, is best known for educating internationally renowned music sensation Kanye West.  Born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8, 1977, West moved to the Chicago suburbs at the age of three, following his parents’ divorce.  He has won more than twenty Grammy Awards, riding to fame not only on the heels of several highly successful, critically acclaimed studio albums, but as a producer of other artists (including Jay-Z and Alicia Keys), and as the operator of his own record label, which features John Legend.  He and his celebrity girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, became the parents of a girl, North West, on June 16, 2013.
