Unique Features
My favorite feature is the patio and outdoor space. The apartment is tucked into the corner of a courtyard, so it feels surprisingly quiet and peaceful given how central the location is. It’s a great spot for morning coffee, having friends over, or just sitting outside and listening to the birds.
Interior Highlights
For a studio, there’s a lot of useful space. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious, the closet is large with high shelves for extra storage, and the separate eat-in kitchen has a gas stove, fridge, and large sink. I’ve found the layout very comfortable and easy to make feel like home.
Best Things About the Building
It’s a friendly, low-key building with attentive neighbors. Laundry is in the basement, which is especially nice in the winter—you never have to haul laundry outside in the snow or cold. There’s also bike storage in the basement, and the courtyard gives the building a quieter, more residential feel.
Best Things About the Neighborhood
You can walk almost everywhere. Mariano’s, Trader Joe’s, and The Fresh Market are all about 5 minutes away; the lakefront is 10 minutes; and Lincoln Park Zoo is 15. Broadway’s restaurants, cafés, bars, and shops are a block away, and Wrigley Field, Northalsted, and Southport are all walkable. The Brown/Purple Lines are 7–10 minutes away, and the #22 Clark stops right outside.
Why It's Worthy of Calling Home
It’s the rare combination of being right in the middle of everything while still having a quiet place to come home to. I can walk to the lake, groceries, restaurants, cafés, nightlife, and transit, then come home to a peaceful courtyard and my own outdoor space. I’m sadly relocating out of state for work—otherwise, I genuinely wouldn’t be leaving.
