Best Things About the Building
It is definitely cooler by the lake. Heat is included. The few window AC units ARE NOT needed on a daily basis in the summer at all. Ceiling fans along with building layout and openness to the lakefront allow for easy natural air flow from front to back. Three large additional washers and dryers are available in the basement. Units have tons of closet and storage space. Additional storage space (approximately 4 x 10) in basement. Beautifully colorful seasonal front yard.
Best Things About the Neighborhood
Bittersweet Place is a quiet street most people do not even know exists. A literal stone's throw away from the northern boundary of Lakeview, walking to the lakefront alone, with another human or dog, takes mere minutes. Multiple grocery stores are within walking distance. Transportation up and down the lakefront, to downtown or Evanston, by car or public transport is a breeze. All the restaurants, stores and entertainment of Lakeview are minutes away. Clark Street and Andersonville are not much farther. The 146 bus tracker and the stops just steps away are a wonderful combo!
Why It's Worthy of Calling Home
The unit is spacious and welcoming. The neighborhood is great. Couldn't ask for better upstairs neighbors. Nobody below you. Storage galore. Parking is available across the street for 200 per month but as long as you don't hop in your car and drive off at 6 p.m thinking you'll come back to where you left no problem, you don't really need it. Broadway overnight is always an easy option. If you're a fan of great sports bars and food, Michael's (mentioned in more than one write-up) is within easy walking... or crawling distance. :)
