Unique Features

Vintage 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment. Amenities included: central air, central heat, dishwasher, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliance, updated kitchen, storage, laundry in building, and yard. Utilities included: electricity, heat, gas, internet, air conditioning and water. Pets are allowed. The kitchen rehab and overall updating / painting of the apartment is finishing up, so there are not a lot of pictures to share but walkthroughs are welcome. Everything will be ready for an August 1st move-in date. Looking for a responsible tenant(s) who will not abuse the included utilities.

Interior Highlights

The building was built around when Woodrow Wilson became U.S. president. The floors squeak...but if you like a vintage place, you will enjoy this apartment. In all seriousness, the building has new kitchen cabinets and appliances (as in never used before by anyone), central air and heating, etc. We have tried to keep some of the history but also add the modern amenities that everyone expects.

Best Things About the Building

The building is a classic red brick front two-flat with Chicago common bricks on the sides. One of the nicer parts of the building is the backyard, which you will have access to for grill outs or just relaxing. You can also sit out on the front porch with a cup of coffee, glass of wine, etc. Despite being an upscale area, Roscoe Village is a traditional Chicago neighborhood, so be prepared for some trick-or-treaters!

Best Things About the Neighborhood

Roscoe Village is really one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago. There are two grocery stores walking distance. The village downtown is very quaint and nice. Street parking is easy. The Addison Brown Line stop is just a short walk. It is about a two-mile walk to Wrigley Field.

Why It's Worthy of Calling Home

Roscoe Village is really a "village in a city" and you can be close to the bustling urban environment but are able to fall back into the small-town feeling in your neighborhood. By including all utilities and the internet, it makes for an easy move -- no messing with Peoples Gas, ComEd, Internet Provider, etc. You just show up with your furniture, smartphones, computers, etc. and make yourself at home. Your landlord used to live in both two-flat apartments for the past 30 years and now lives just 10 minutes away -- so it is not an absentee owner.
