What you Should Know

Unique Features

It's fully furnished!! Newly renovated in 2017. Brand new washer and dryer in the unit. We just had the HVAC system cleaned to help lower heating bills. We are willing to extend the lease by another month if needed.

Interior Highlights

The kitchen was newly renovated by us in 2017. We added an exposed brick backwash, white quartz countertops, sterling silver appliances and grey wood walls. The kitchen is a bright and clean space. The mustard yellow wall adds a retro flare to a bohemian, contemporary home. Barn doors were added to hide the new washer and dryer. Our home has a worldly essence about it since we love to bring home trinkets from our trips. :) The sunroom is a perfect place to drink your coffee in the morning at a reclaimed wood spool table. We have a garage spot which is a necessity in the winter.

Best Things About the Building

There are 3 units to our building and our neighbors are very nice! We have an outdoor shared space in the back.

Best Things About the Neighborhood

We are across the street from an art school so it is very secure. A block away from California street where there are hip coffee shops, boutiques and restaurants. About a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Humboldt Park that you can sit by the ponds and read a book or play tennis or baseball on the courts and fields.

Neighborhood Vibe

Apartments in Humboldt Park Chicago are in the Midwest’s de facto capital of Puerto Rican culture. It’s a densely-populated community of about 81,000 residents, and murals adorn the sides of buildings throughout the neighborhood.

Heart of the Neighborhood

You know you’ve arrived in Humboldt Park when you pass beneath either of the 59-foot, 45-ton metal Puerto Rican flags that heralds the Paseo Boricua, or “Little Puerto Rico,” a stretch of Division Street between Western and California Avenues.

What We Love Most

Hip-hop, salsa, reggaeton, and bomba music drift out of open windows. Art is everywhere in Humboldt Park. The oldest exterior Puerto Rican mural in Chicago, “La Crucifixion de Don Pedro Albizu Campos,” dates from 1971 and was recently saved from demolition by community activists.

Best Way to Get Around

CTA buses run along the four major thoroughfares in Humboldt Park -- Chicago, Division, North and Armitage. Cyclists are advised to steer clear of busy Western Avenue, but California Avenue is a pleasant ride and the boulevards, as well as the paths crisscrossing the massive park, are supremely bike friendly.
