What you Should Know
The unit has new hardwood floors, fresh beige paint, new white kitchen cabinets with butcher block countertop, new bathroom with subway tile, lots of large closet space, and new LED lighting.
The kitchen and bathroom are my favorite things about the unit. The kitchen has plenty of counter space for cooking and tons for cabinets for storage. As someone who enjoys cooking, the butcher block counter top is what initially sold me on this place. The bathroom has new lighting fixtures and a beautiful tile design that gives it a modern feel. The medicine cabinet mirror is a great touch, too.
Best Things About the Building
24/7 on-site maintenance for added convenience and overall cleanliness of the building. Maintenance staff is very friendly. Two on-site laundry rooms with coin operated washers and dryers. Building is pet friendly. Large dogs are ok, which is rare in Chicago. Neighbors are all very friendly.
Best Things About the Neighborhood
This unit is located near the Bryn Mawr Historic District in the Edgewater neighborhood. It is steps from Lake Michigan, Kathy Osterman Beach, dog parks, Loyola University, and near all transportation (bus, train, and highway). There are several grocery stores nearby (Jewel Osco, Whole Foods, Mariano's, and more) and a wide variety of shopping, dining, and nightlife in the area. For example, to the south, you have unique culture and food of Asia on Argyle and nightlife Uptown, and to the west, you have the shops in Andersonville, all within walking distance!
Why it's Worthy of Calling Home
The location and price. Being so close to the Lake Shore trail offers a nice break from "city life" and is refreshing in the summer. As far as the price goes, many 1 bedroom units in this area can get very expensive quickly since Edgewater is a popular neighborhood and especially as you get closer to the Red Line. Please call, text, or email if you are interested in a tour. The landlord requires a $50 application fee, $350 move in fee, and first month's rent is due at signing of 1 year lease. Current tenant is willing to cover half of move-in fee if you are approved.
